A Little Sunshine

Last week had a special treat - we got to go with Shay to a conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. What a wonderful change of pace! We left cold, snowy weather and landed in a sunny, 70-degree paradise! We stayed at a gorgeous resort called the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. We highly recommend it (although there is NO WAY we could have afforded it if we had to foot the bill!)

Thankfully for mommy there was a playground on site (and it was surrounded by orange trees!)

So the restaurants on the property were delicious! The one here was on the golf course (where the Phoenix Open is played - maybe right now!) We were pointing to the Augusta National course listed on this display.

Right behind one of the pools was a sandbox - complete with trucks!

There was lots of wildlife on the resort. We saw bunnies, quail and turtles.

With a resort this big you need to consult maps!

SNOW!

Utah is famous for its snow. It's often called the best snow on earth, and this winter it's been...absent! The locals have been lamenting for the past few weeks that this is the least snow they have had in years. Everyone who loves to ski and snowboard is bummed. But finally, this morning...

This much in the valley means lots more on the mountain! Yay!

The first thing we had to do was go get Rivers some new snow boots since his foot has already grown two sizes since the time I bought his last pair. He chose a Lightning McQueen light up pair, but really hated wearing them. On the bright side, he said the snow "taste ice cream!"

He really perked up when we got to the park and started sledding...now this is getting fun!

We're so glad the snow finally came and we hope it's here to stay!
